music...its been around a loooong time
Lets just start somewhere...SO the 1600's thats a long time ago isnt it? Back then people didn't have anything close to an IPod or computer, not even an electric guitar. Not even a LIGHT BULB. Technology was completely primitive and undeveloped. So making music relied in wooden instruments and singing.
The main type of music back in the 1600's was a music call "Baroque" music. Baroque music is the style of WEstern music extending approximately from 1600 to 1750. This era follows the Renaissance and was followed in turn by the Classical era.
The word "baroque" comes from the Portuguese word barroco, meaning "misshapen pearl", a negative description of the ornate and heavily ornamented music of this period; later the name came to be applied also to its architecture.
